ABOUT YOUR TUTOR

Mark Stanford is the owner, engineer and resident music producer of Avalon Music Studios. Stanford is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer, producer, professional sheet music arranger & music teacher based in Valencia, Spain.

Stanford began playing music while in National School and subsequently graduated with a BA (Hons) Degree In Music Production & Composition from Pulse College, Dublin. Stanford is also a Certified Member of Winter NAMM, the largest music industry organization in the world (www.namm.org). Stanford has over 9 years teaching experience and believes music education should be fun, engaging and continuously help develop a child's confidence. Using the best technology a specialized program is built around each student to ensure they achieve certain milestones, whether it be performing in front of family or friends or on a live stage!

With over 9 years teaching experience, Stanford has developed the most comprehensive custom built programs for Piano, Guitar & Singing of which rapidly teach students their instrument and the theory behind their instrument. Students not only learn how to perform on their instrument but also learn about all the other exciting aspects of music and its technology. They also learn how to write songs, record and mix those songs online which ultimately improves their "active listening" abilities. With our programs students will learn to name a few:

Musical ability is not pre-determined and as proven by scientists featured in the book "This Is Your Brain On Music" by Daniel Levitin (Click Here), there is no such thing as a gifted child or person. Anybody can become great if they put their mind to it. Our philosophy makes students believe in themselves and encourages them to be better, while at the same time having fun! Music should never be about competition. Music is about taking part and enjoying yourself.
